Love this podcast! She delves into lots of obscure cases that I haven’t heard much of & even the ones I’ve heard of - there’s always something new to learn about the case. Great job!

I had to watch a documentary on the “Chowchilla School Bus kidnapping.” I searched unsuccessfully high and low for the video documentary my teacher assigned when I came across this podcast on YouTube. I had NEVER heard or seen any details about the crisis. Therefore, listening to the details of the event and visualizing it for myself made this show very dramatic!!! Needless to say, I’ve subscribed to “Once Upon A Crime,” (which I also like to add that I’ve never considered listening to ANY podcast show) and have taken a break from satellite radio! Keep up the good work!

I love this podcast & Esther’s voice, it’s just so soothing to me. I binged so hard when I first found it & now I have to impatiently wait for every week’s episode. But it’s always worth the wait!

Would love to give 5 but..

No personality. Like a clone of a clone, that is reading a document. Very matter of fact and to the point and that's what's the issue. It's too matter of fact and to the point. Not much personality shining through all that matter of fact reading off a piece of paper. Love everything else. Love the interesting topics etc It's just the way it's read that's boring. Maybe even have other true crime podcasters join in on episodes!

Mesmerizingly Epic

Esther Ludlow’s storytelling abilities are phenomenal. From beginning to end of each episode, I find myself captivated and deeply immersed in the story she tells. She doesn’t pause to give her own opinions, like many others. She just gives the facts of the story. Speaking of the facts, the amount of research she does is staggering. While many of the stories I’ve never heard of, there are many which I have. Despite that, there’s so much about them that I did not know about. The key players of every episode are given a full rundown, from birth to present day. Not something readily found in true crime podcasts. Once Upon A Crime has quickly become my favorite true crime podcast.

I can get enough

I was so motivated by this podcast i refused to watch tv... I ended up painting my house (in some sort of trance) I finished and found more projects until I ran out of episodes...

So Entertaining!!

This is such an entertaining podcast. I love the theme based blocks of podcasts that Esther puts out - it gives me a chance to hear little known stories, or ones that are long forgotten. Esther does her research and brings forth the stories in an entertaining format, but stays cognizant of the sensitivity of each subject. Thanks for the hard work, I look forward to every episode!

Keep it going

I like how the main topic is crime and then there are sub topics and how you group the stories.. I like the tone and pace of your speaking style and your interjected comments. They make me chuckle 😻😻😹😹😻😻

2 Thumbs up on your bonus episode!

It's been a while since I have given this podcast a review, but I felt it was time after listening to the recent bonus episode that Esther did with her brother Tony. It was AMAZING! Tony and Esther had great dialogue and I really enjoyed how Tony paid attention to the smallest details that really brought value to this episode. It's no wonder, since he did mention he was a Scientist, so I wasn't surprised that he remembered the smallest of details that were so important. I absolutely love this Podcast and in MY opinion it is the BEST True Crime Podcast out there today. Esther's style is so enjoyable and her episodes are packed with great detail, you can tell she does her research. Honestly, I can't wait for each new episode to come out, and when she throws in a bonus like the one she just did with her brother, it's exciting! I also want to say her brother Tony deserves some real KUDOs here as well, he did a great job and was a STELLAR co-host. I am proud to be a Patreon member of this podcast and can't wait to see what she puts out this year! Keep on giving OUAC, your podcast is TOP NOTCH!

Great true crime podcast

So well researched and put together. I’m always impressed at how much information Esther pulls together in the cases she covers. Her episodes are so comprehensive, I usually learn something new and interesting even if I’m familiar with the case or have heard it on another podcast. I also really like how she does a series at a time on different topics. One of my favorites.

I really enjoy the show and you guys do great work but Michigan does not have the Death Penalty. Your brother mentioned she started cutting deals to prevent being sentence to death
