I just started listening to this show after being caught up on all my other true crime podcast. The sound is great, the story-telling is impecable. What a great show!

The best true crime podcast!
This is the best true crime podcast. Esther's voice is amazing. Soothing yet almost eerie, and her stories are finely researched and have the most amazing detail. Also, no annoying co-host and no distractions. Keep up the great work Esther! 🖤

Cozy Storytime With an Edge
The cases are reviewed in such a way that you are brought into the life of the victim(s) and murderer(s) and see what really happened to cause these horrible events. Told in such a sweet, soothing voice, it feels like a cozy storytime with an edge. I’m majoring in psychology and also appreciate the insight into what affected these people in their lives as well as the information about brain damage some incurred before they committed these crimes.

Very Well Done
I really like this true crime podcast. Unlike many of the others it only has the one person telling the story and flows much better than other pods. Also it doesnt feel as if she is just reading from a script, she does a very good job of telling the story. Keep up the great work. Thanks

I honestly love this podcast! I have listened to every episode so far. I love listening at work and it didn’t take me long to listen to them all. Great story telling and great research. Can’t wait to listen to the newest episode! 😎

Fantastic job!
Love this podcast! I’ve been listening for a while, but been a bad listener by not yet reviewing the show, & giving Esther the well deserved credit. So, my apologies. The show covers a lot of great topics. I’ve really enjoyed the little series of crimes, & criminals that fall into those categories. Also, unlike a lot of true crime shows, she covers a lot of criminals not yet discussed. It’s refreshing, & a way to learn about other awful criminals. Heh. My wife & I have discussed many episodes, how great we think Esther is, & often comment on how much we appreciate how obvious it is that a lot of research has been put into each episode. Thank you very much for all of your hard work! My wife has a podcast of her own, The Bloodlust, & I’m well aware of the amount of work it takes to put together an episode, & show itself.
Being a Halloween lover myself, those episodes are also big favorites of mine.
So I suppose this was my very long-winded way of saying thank you very much, we really enjoy the show, & keep up the excellent work!

This show is great
I love this show. I like how she tells a story and the pacing. Also the way she’ll inject humor sometimes. What I hate is having to wait for the next episode!!

Late to the game, but I showed up!
I'm so late to this podcast, but I'm so glad I finally found it! Esther really knows how to tell a great true crime story and always chooses the most interesting cases. Keep up the great work!

My Fave
It's clear that she puts a lot of work into these episodes. I can't imagine the amout of research that goes into producing this show. This has become my favorite podcast, and I only wish there were more!

The best writing of ANY podcast!
As a writer, I can appreciate good storytelling--and many of my favorite podcasters are great writers. However, Esther tops them all with her ability to weave a story in a way that really makes you care about the victims (and sometimes even the perpetrators!). My organization-freak brain loves the way she orders podcasts into themes, with each new episode under that theme being a different "chapter." But best of all--she covers cases nobody else does. She goes back to stories I saw on the news (and in movies of the week) when I was in high school, college, and my 20s--Amy Fisher, Susan Smith, Selena, Rebecca Schaeffer. I'm so glad Once Upon a Crime is among my subscriptions!

Great stories!
Very in-depth crime podcast! Esther is a great host, the stories are very well researched, and I find Once Upon a Crime to be one of the Best Crime Podcasts I’ve listened to. Highly recommended!!!!

Love it!
Love this podcast. I am a true crime fanatic and dibble and dabble in different podcasts. This one is in my Top 3. Love the story telling, the details, the pace, the arrangement and the variety of types of stories told here. Keep up the great work.

Can’t stop listening
I am almost caught up!! I love your podcast. I’m listening to the one about Doe Roberts. I lived near Eads Tennessee when I was a teenager (97-04). Everywhere your talking about I know most of it. I couldn’t believe I had never heard of this case. I’m glad you did an episode about this. Thank you.

Such a great podcast. Thoughtfully and carefully scripted, and well-delivered. Even for famous crimes, she delivers so much backstory and explanation that I never knew before. So good.

Great true crime podcast
This is one of my favorite true crime podcast. The episodes are super informative without going into so much detail you get bored. There is always a line between not wanting to gross out the audience with all the gore of crimes and giving all the details so that you can understand the crime and it’s depravity, Esther walks that line perfectly. Big plus too, I read and listen to a lot of true crime and she has still been able to dig up interesting crimes that I haven’t heard of.
